Your handy thirty-second tour of what this is all about.

Somewhere along the line, learning just stops being fun.

Which really is too bad, because it doesn't actually take that much to get any kid (or kid at heart) excited about a new thing. History, geography, civics — they're deceptively cold phrases that describe material that really is rich, interesting, and relevant. The trick — and it really is the only one — is to make that connection, to find that voice, that delivers that relevance in an engaging, audience-minded way.

And that's where I come in.

My first love, and what I'm formally trained in, is art. What started as drawing turned into designing which eventually turned to the web, and I've had the pleasure to hone and apply them all both academically and professionally. Making web sites that do their job the cleanest, smartest, and best they can has been my passion for years, and there's no feeling quite like the harmony of lean HTML, fresh design, and the backbone of some fine-tuned CSS.

But beyond everything else, what gets my blood pumping are the lightbulb moments. The episodes of clarity, of understanding, and of fun when new ideas and concepts get made real. I believe we're in a unique time and place, equipped with resources to make learning come alive in completely new ways, sparking minds and accelerating curriculums. The content's already out there; it's just a matter of making it stick.

If you're an educator or educational publisher and want to get in touch, feel free to drop me a line. (Oh, and especially if it involves presidential history.)
